In 2017 GTS began building a flexible dynamic shuttle solution. GTS’s shuttle platform launched in April 2018 in the UK.
Dynamic shuttles combine GTS’s expertise in demand prediction, data analytics and powerful booking systems.
It can efficiently change a shuttle’s route to fulfill customer demand. Our new solution is built to accommodate three distinct forms of Dynamic Shuttles:

Services that can be booked in advance or hailed on the fly.
Shuttles run according to demand and the start point of the route is flexible.
The customer signs up and books through our mobile apps. Booking notification sent to customer.
Customer receives a push notification when the shuttle is 5 minutes from arrival.
Payment can optionally be taken on booking.
Route depends on demand and passengers are grouped together for optimal routing
Under this scenario, a customer can order a pick-up in any area of the city.
Shuttle routing is on demand with reservations either made in advance or on the fly.
Reservations are accepted or rejected according to shuttles available and demand likelihood.
Shuttles are assigned according to passenger grouping of pick up point and drop off point.
Dynamic shuttles from point to point without fixed pick up e.g. a person travelling from one neighborhood to the central business district.
The system would determine when to allow a booking and when to reject based on predicted demand, schedule the shuttle, group passengers together by pick up point and drop off point.
Smart Shuttle can be adopted directly by a transit agency’s existing fleet allowing the agency to fully deploy the service, accumulate large data sets, and work with the technology provider to refine the machine learning algorithms to improve services over time.
DYNAMIC SHUTTLE SIMULATOR
We provide a simulator to reduce the uncertainty around moving to a dynamic shuttle transport system by demonstrating how the system would run across a variety of scenarios.
Performance Metrics such as wait time and cost per trip are calculated across a range of demand scenarios
The benefits of the simulator are that the client can understand in advance how Dynamic Shuttle can best meet the transport systems needs and how mitigate against potential risks
